Solana (SOL) rival Aptos (APT) is reportedly partnering with tech giant Microsoft on a new push into artificial intelligence (AI) and web3 projects. According to a new TechCrunch report, Aptos Labs will integrate its blockchain technology with Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service to quicken web3 adoption.
Focus on Solving Industry Problems
Mo Shaikh, co-founder of Aptos Labs, says that the primary focus for both companies is solving their respective industries’ problems. Daniel An, Microsoft’s global director of business development for AI and web3, believes that AI’s role in web3 development will start expanding within months. He also states that blockchain technology can help build trust around AI technology through verification and transparency.
Launch of Aptos Assistant
A press release reveals that Aptos Labs will launch an AI-based chatbot called the “Aptos Assistant”. It will answer questions about the Aptos ecosystem and offer guidance to developers building smart contracts and decentralized apps (dApps) in the ecosystem.
Exploration into Asset Tokenization
The collaboration between the two companies also plans to explore asset tokenization, payments and Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), all of which could further advance the adoption of web3 from financial services enterprises. Following the announcement of this news, APT saw a dramatic increase in its price from a 24-hour low of $6.66 to a high of $7.92 — nearly 19%.
